Margam Archers are an archery club based in Margam Country Park, Port Talbot. We are a friendly club involved in many forms of archery, including Clout, Target and Field shooting with Archers of all ages and abilities, shooting traditional Longbow and the more modern Recurve and Compound bows. We welcome all archers, beginners or long established and encourage them to enjoy their shooting whether their interest is in socialising, fun or competition.
The club was founded in September 1986 by Pat and Rex Baddeley, Bill Farrant and Vic Nicolas. 2011 marked the clubs 25th anniversary, to celebrate this several events and competitions were held.
We are very lucky to have access to the beautiful Margam Country Park as our shooting grounds. We shoot in the Park on Sunday mornings throughout the year. From April to September we shoot in the Park Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 PM. And from September to April we shoot in Tondu Cricket Club on Monday evenings.
The club stages several national Longbow competitions each year as part of the Cwmni Cymraeg-y-Bwa and British Longbow Society. These along with the club and open shoots held throughout the year, Margam Archers are a well known and well regarded archery club. For more details on the club tournaments and events take a look at the Events Calendar.
